Bundel 'Countering Violent Extremist Narratives'

Op 4 en 5 juni 2009 organiseerden het Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism (CTC) en de Nationaal Coordinator Terrorismebestrijding (NCTb), in samenwerking met de Britse en Canadese ambassades in Nederland, een expertmeeting over ‘counter narratives against violent extremism’.

De bijeenkomst stond in het teken van het doorgronden van de gewelddadig extremistische ideologie en het inventariseren van mogelijke tegen- argumenten in de vorm van een contranarratief. Het aanwezige gezelschap bestond uit internationale experts uit academische en beleidsmatige hoek.

De diepgaande discussies en interessante presentaties inspireerden de NCTb om deze bijdragen op papier te zetten. De uitkomst hiervan is de bundel Countering Violent Extremist Narratives. Deze is tot stand gekomen onder redactie van Eelco Kessels, Research Fellow bij het CTC.
